She began corralling neighborhood kids to act in skits she created from reading Tom Sawyer. Jeanne went on to win acting awards in high school and she studied theatre at the University of Texas, winning the B. Iden Payne award for Best Comedy Actress in the city of Austin. Jeanne graduated from Houston Baptist University and worked in radio as an on air personality and special events coordinator. In addition to her professional career, Jeanne has written, directed and performed in numerous theatrical productions over the years. She created and taught theatre classes for middle and high school in a homeschool co-op. At CYT she taught classes in Beginning Acting, Advanced Acting, Comedy Workshop and Readers Theatre, as well as directed a CYT summer camp. In addition to being a Drama Rocket Pilot, Jeanne also utilizes her multi-tasking superpowers as our stellar administrative assistant!

Braylee Bowen

Braylee Bowen, Drama Rocket Co-Pilot (Assistant Teaching Artist)

Braylee first appeared on stage when she was three years old. Her sometimes serious-seeming persona melts away when she is on stage and the lights bring out the best (and goofiest!) parts of her. Braylee loves musical theatre in particular. Her first official role was Gretl in the Sound of Music when she was six years old. She has had many roles since then and some of her favorites were: Adelaide (Guys & Dolls), Asaka (Once on this Island) and Joy (Rodgers and Hammerstein's' Cinderella). She loves children and believes they are capable of doing incredible things! The stage has always brought out the best in Braylee, and now she is excited to pass that gift on to all of our Drama Rocketeers!

She was the Vice President and Secretary of her drama club in high school, and has performed in several One Act and community theatre productions as well. Some of her favorite roles were Wendy in "Peter Pan" and Eponine in "Les Misérables." Maddie is thrilled to share her passion for theatre with our Drama Rocketeers!

Rocket

Rocket, Drama Rocket's Mascot

Rocket is our furry and feisty cockapoo who joined the DR Crew in April of 2018. Rocket joins us from Oklahoma, a state rich in adventurous space travelers, from Gordon Cooper (the first American to fly 2 orbits of the earth in a Mercury capsule) to Shannon Lucid (who holds the world record for longest time in space for a female at 88 days on the Mir Space Station).
Rocket’s love for the theatrical arts started at an early age when he discovered his vocal skills and playful nature. His favorite theatre games are “Fetch” and “Boom Chicka Boom.” Rocket’s day to day responsibilities mainly involve providing endless energy to our Rocketeers and providing frequent updates about what’s happening at Drama Rocket HQ. Don't just rock it, Drama Rocket!
