Steven Lindsay, Drama Rocket Ground Controller
Born, raised and under-grad-educated (University of Glasgow, BSc (Hons) in Chemistry) in Scotland, Steven moved to the US to pursue a future in chemistry. He secured his MS in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and for the last 20 years has worked in sales and business development for various global industrial chemical companies. Over the years, Steven has realized the need for arts integration at an early age, particularly as it applies to young adults who aspire to have careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. By incorporating the arts, STEM becomes STEAM based learning, thus giving children a more well-rounded educational experience that will help create personalities with strong creative thinking AND technical skills. Outside of his career, you'll find Steven spending most of his time building props and sets in the Drama Rocket Workshop or on the golf course!
Jennifer Chidester, Drama Rocket Pilot (Lead Teaching Artist)
Jennifer and her husband have been married 27 years and have 2 children. Jennifer has a passion for teaching, theatre, photography and traveling. Since college, she has been a Community Events/Production Planner, including concerts, theatre productions, banquets, weddings etc. However, her heart always returns her to teaching. Upon moving to Texas, Jennifer opened her own photography studio and a few years later, became actively involved with a youth theatre company as a Production Director, Area Coordinator, Teacher and Territory Director. This led to a passion to start an additional organization where she was the Operational Director for several years. Jennifer has been involved with the arts for many years in both the community and her church. From an Arts Council member, Theatre Director, Operation/Production Manager to Networking Manager, Jennifer looks for opportunities to help expand healthy art programs with vision and purpose. Finding Drama Rocket is a perfect match and a time for her to do what she loves most...teach!
Jeanne Colvin, Drama Rocket Pilot and Magnolia ISD Crew Leader
Jeanne brings fun and enthusiasm to Drama Rocket with her theatrical experience and love for kids! As a little girl, Jeanne was introduced to live theatre when her mother took her to see The Sound of Music. After that, she was hooked! She began corralling neighborhood kids to act in skits she created from reading Tom Sawyer. Jeanne went on to win acting awards in high school and she studied theatre at the University of Texas, winning the B. Iden Payne award for Best Comedy Actress in the city of Austin. Jeanne graduated from Houston Baptist University and worked in radio as an on air personality and special events coordinator. In addition to her professional career, Jeanne has written, directed and performed in numerous theatrical productions over the years. She created and taught theatre classes for middle and high school in a homeschool co-op. At CYT she taught classes in Beginning Acting, Advanced Acting, Comedy Workshop and Readers Theatre, as well as directed a CYT summer camp. In addition to being a Drama Rocket Pilot, Jeanne also utilizes her multi-tasking superpowers as our stellar administrative assistant!
J.T. Pratt, Drama Rocket Pilot (Lead Teaching Artist)
Braylee Bowen, Drama Rocket Co-Pilot (Assistant Teaching Artist)
Braylee first appeared on stage when she was three years old. Her sometimes serious-seeming persona melts away when she is on stage and the lights bring out the best (and goofiest!) parts of her. Braylee loves musical theatre in particular. Her first official role was Gretl in the Sound of Music when she was six years old. She has had many roles since then and some of her favorites were: Adelaide (Guys & Dolls), Asaka (Once on this Island) and Joy (Rodgers and Hammerstein's' Cinderella). She loves children and believes they are capable of doing incredible things! The stage has always brought out the best in Braylee, and now she is excited to pass that gift on to all of our Drama Rocketeers!
